Ventura Childrens Dental Group specializes in treating the unique pediatric dental needs of infants and children, tweens and teens. We are part of the Oxnard Childrens Dental Group of pediatric dentists serving families since 1977. Catherine Chien, DDS

Catherine Chien, DDS

After receiving her Bachelors degree in Biochemistry  from UCSD, her dental education at UCLA, and her pediatric dental training at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Cathy Chien returned home to Ventura County. Since Dr. Cathy has become a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she has been busy being a mom to Christopher, Nicholas, and Jonathan. Dr. Cathy enjoys spending time cooking with her husband, Ian and running with her dog. She also enjoys working as the Treasurer for the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Care Foundation and as a Board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme.

Julia Endrizzi, DMD

Julia Endrizzi, DMD

Dr. Julia Endrizzi graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Diego State University and moved east to complete her dental degree at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. There, she worked in community outreach with Students for Environmental Awareness in Medicine and participated in a dental mission in Haridwar, India, where she provided dental care to children and adults in an underserved community. Dr. Julia completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. After becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2011, she worked in a private office specializing in the care of children with complex medical issues and special needs. Dr. Julia is happy to have returned home to Southern California with her husband and two young boys. During her free time she enjoys date nights and watching football with her husband, and taking her kids to the park and the beach.

Arina Hartunian, DDS

Arina Hartunian, DDS

Dr. Arina Hartunian is a Southern California native, and a true “Bruin”. She received her Bachelor’s Degree, her Dental Degree, and her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from UCLA. She also completed advanced training at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in West Los Angeles, and at the Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center, where she gained extensive experience working with a large variety of medically compromised and physically disabled adults and children. Dr. Arina is currently on the faculty at UCLA, where she teaches part-time in one of their Pediatric Dental Clinics. She is also a council member of the Southern California Society of Dentistry for Children. When Dr. Arina is not at our Ventura or Oxnard space stations treating our amazing patients, she enjoys travel, tennis, listening to music, and dancing.

Betsy Kaplan, DMD

Betsy Kaplan, DMD

Dr. Betsy Kaplan grew up in Connecticut as the middle sister of three red-headed girls. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Psychology, she got her Dental Degree in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Betsy then moved to Los Angeles, where she completed a General Practice Residency at VA Hospital in Long Beach and received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from UCLA. She and her husband now live in Thousand Oaks with their two dogs. Her two beautiful girls, who are her biggest source of pride (and space station alumnae), have moved to the east coast. When Dr. Betsy is not having fun with her patients, you might catch her doing yoga, baking, gardening or jumping on a plane to visit her daughters. She is undoubtedly the biggest Red Sox fan in California and October is her favorite month of the year.

Amanda Doung, DMD

Amanda Doung, DDS

Dr. Amanda Duong was born and raised in Orange County, California in a close knit family alongside her older brother and sister. She received her Bachelor’s degree at University of California, Irvine in biological sciences before she moved to Utah with her now fiancé Paul and received her dental degree at Roseman University of Health Sciences. There she solidified her desire to work with children, which led her to the east coast where she completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at NYU Langone Dental Medicine - Rhode Island. Dr. Amanda is thrilled to be back in her home state and excited to explore Ventura County with her family.

Cathrine Fong, DDS

Cathrine Fong, DDS

Dr. Cat was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Biology. She then moved down the coast to earn her DDS from UCLA. While at UCLA, Dr. Cat was inspired by the small but important changes she was able to provide for young children and their families during her internship at a community clinic in the greater Los Angeles area. Upon graduating from UCLA, she moved across town to pursue her advanced training in pediatric dentistry at USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In her free time, Dr. Cat enjoys baking (especially bread), exploring new restaurant finds, and spending time with her husband, Kevin, and her chocolate lab, Hershey.
